Lima Greenhouses, Inc. is a locally owned and operated wholesale greenhouse business here in Spokane, WA. The knack for caring and cultivating plants began in 1947 with Cecil and Kathleen Jared. Later on, in 1972, their daughter, Marian, and her husband, Edward, began Lima Greenhouses, utilizing a small amount of greenhouse space. Edward and Marian ran the day-to-day operations with the help of their son, Eddie, and daughter-in-law, Vicki. The business grew and expanded over the years and now contains over 50 covered greenhouses and two retail garden centers located both in Spokane, WA and Liberty Lake, WA. Eddie and Vicki took over Lima Greenhouses in 2013 and are joined by their 3 children and 7 (soon to be 8!) grandchildren.
"The gratification that comes from being out in the greenhouses and growing something beautiful that I know will bring a smile to someone's face is the greatest part of my job. It comes with its challenges but there's no place I would rather be" says daughter, Nichole. The sentiment rings true for all members of the Lima family. They love what they do and take pride in providing beautiful, healthy plants to regional wholesale buyers and retail buyers alike.
